El Cortez, Las Vegas

I am back from the opening weekend of Quilt National 13. It was amazing. There is so much I want to say about attending the opening and the experiences shared with the other artists, but real life is keeping me busy and away from the computer. I promise to write up my thoughts soon. In the meantime, I am excited to finally share images of El Cortez, Las Vegas.

Hi Lisa.
I came upon your blog after many hours, (no, make that days. no, correction, make that weeks. Umm, to be honest - it's been months) of ogling your amazing rusted vintage sign work in Quilting Arts.
I have never had work speak to me like that - and I just can't stop looking at it. It really is spectacular - and I commend you on your talent and vision to be able to breathe such life into something so static. Your use of color is wonderful and your attention to detail.... well, it almost brings tears to my eyes. Well done. I looked at your pictures from the Dairy Barn. I am a born and raised Ohio girl (now living in NC) and Quilt National is on my list for next year. I do hope to see some of your beautiful work in person - should I venture up to Athens. And, if you ever decide to do any teaching - I would love to hear from you. Your work is truly beautiful and your vision inspiriting.
